Jorge Martin (Aprilia): MotoGP World Championship leader treats himself to a break in Ibiza

At Silverstone, Aprilia star Jorge Martín impressively defended his World Championship lead. With pole position, victory in the sprint race and second place in the Grand Prix, the Spaniard enjoyed an almost perfect weekend on the British Isles. The RS-GP was once again perfectly suited to the Silverstone Circuit this year, meaning that on both occasions the podium consisted exclusively of Aprilia riders.

Martin scored 32 points at the British Grand Prix. After twelve race weekends, he sits top of the World Championship standings with 240 points. His team-mate Marco Bezzecchi is currently in second place, 31 points behind.

Martin is also using the break of just under three weeks until his home Grand Prix at MotorLand Aragon to relax with his girlfriend Maria Monfort – for example, in Ibiza. He is out on a yacht there, enjoying himself – swimming, stand-up paddleboarding and good food.

World Championship battle intensifies

He didn’t miss out on the solar eclipse either, which took place on Wednesday this week and was particularly well visible in south-western Europe. Alongside this, Martin’s schedule this week also included training sessions on his road bike.
