Austrian Porsche team ready for debut at the 24 Hours of Spa

A debut for razoon – more than racing. The racing team from Eggersdorf near Graz will be competing in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa with a Porsche 911 GT3 R. The endurance classic at Spa-Francorchamps is the world’s largest GT3 race, with 70 cars set to take part again this year, and also marks the season’s highlight for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

The Porsche, run by the team led by Dominik Olbert and GT3 team manager Christoph Huber, will be driven by an international quartet of drivers. The two Britons, Kenzie Beecroft and Ed McDermott, will share the car with Australian Bryce Fullwood and Carl Bennett, who was born in the USA and grew up in Thailand. Bennett will compete under a Thai licence. The quartet will compete in the Pro-Am Cup.

Whilst Beecroft and McDermott will be making their international racing debut, having enjoyed success in British GT racing, Fullwood and Bennett bring a wealth of experience to the table. Between 2020 and 2025, Fullwood competed in the Australian Supercars Championship, having won the Super 2 Series title in Australia in 2019. Carl Bennett has already gained a wealth of experience in endurance racing and has previously competed in the FIA WEC with a hypercar prototype. His GT3 experience includes stints in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Asian Le Mans Series, amongst others.

This year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa will take place from 25 to 28 June. The traditional race will kick off on the evening of 24 June with an atmospheric parade through Spa’s old town. In the evening of 25 June, a four-part qualifying session will determine the starting grid, before the 32 fastest cars battle for pole position in a Superpole session on Friday afternoon. The race starts on 27 June at 4.30 pm.

“By competing in the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, we are fulfilling a dream, as it has always been our aim to take part in the world’s biggest GT3 race. Our goal is to fight for a strong result in the Pro-Am class, which I believe is a realistic prospect. Our drivers bring a wealth of experience from a wide variety of motorsport disciplines, and we intend to capitalise on this during the race. However, with 70 GT3 cars on the grid, there are bound to be plenty of incidents, so it’s important that we get through the race without making any mistakes,” explains team owner Dominik Olbert.

This year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa is also expected to attract more than 100,000 spectators around the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Fans who are unable to attend the race in person will have the opportunity to watch the entire race via the official livestream on YouTube. From qualifying onwards, the SRO will provide free livestreams in several languages – including German and English.
