The experienced Austrian Gerhard Tweraser is set to compete in the ADAC GT Masters season finale at the Hockenheimring. Tweraser will race for the Czech team Fullinrace Academy in an Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II on the historic circuit near Mannheim. The 37-year-old will share the car with the Czech driver Petr Fulin. The pair will compete in the Pro-Am class.
For Tweraser, this will be his second outing in this year’s ADAC GT Masters season, having previously competed at the Nürburgring in a Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. Tweraser has already contested 38 races in the ADAC GT Masters and brings further experience from the GT World Challenge Europe and the International GT Open. Tweraser gained experience with the Audi in the GT World Challenge Europe, amongst other series, where he has already contested several races this year with Tresor Attempto Racing.
Fulin brings a wealth of experience from touring car racing and is familiar with the ADAC platform from guest appearances in the ADAC TCR Germany. In 2018, during a guest appearance in the touring car series, he won both races at Most in the Czech Republic.
With his experience, Tweraser will help the Fullinrace Academy in its debut in the ADAC GT Masters. The team most recently competed with the GT3 Audi in national Czech racing series. “The ADAC GT Masters is one of the most prestigious GT racing series in Europe. For us, it’s a fantastic opportunity to prove ourselves at this high level of competition,” explains team manager Tadeáš Martínek. “If everything goes well, we would of course be delighted to consider further entries in the future. We’re really looking forward to Hockenheim and to being part of the ADAC GT Masters weekend.”
The experienced GT driver from Styria said: “The chance to race at Hockenheim came about at very short notice and I’m delighted that Petr has chosen me as his team-mate. I’ll do my very best to support him and the team on their debut in the ADAC GT Masters. I think we have a relatively good chance of competing at the front, particularly given the shorter pit stop times for the Pro-Am cars. The team is very well organised and operates very professionally. I’m absolutely delighted to be competing in the ADAC GT Masters again and to be able to take part in the finale. I’ve already raced with Grasser at the Nürburgring this year; unfortunately, the planned start at the Salzburgring didn’t work out due to scheduling conflicts.”
The two one-hour ADAC GT Masters races at the Hockenheimring will start on 10 October at 3.05 pm and on 11 October at 2.30 pm. Interested fans can follow the races via the official live streams on YouTube and joyn.
