Oliver Svendsen: “I’m looking for a ride for the Euro Moto Hockenheim”

Following his title win, Oliver Svendsen was keen to make a fresh start in the new Sportbike class in 2025. However, the successful Dane’s career has hit a snag since then. Whilst his results on the track were solid, the team led by then-owner Denis Hertrampf was forced to file for bankruptcy in relation to its racing division. Sponsor ERC, which normally runs a team in the World Endurance Championship, stepped in. Towards the end of his turbulent season, Svendsen broke his bones and spent the rest of the year on crutches.

Things were set to improve in 2026. ERC had put a team together. No entry fee was required for the riders. However, with the Kawasakis and the two different sets of regulations in Euro Moto Sportbike – one for the BSB and one for the World Championship – they couldn’t get things off the ground. After the season opener, the team withdrew for two races. This also meant a forced break for Svendsen.

Sometimes you just have to accept that things don’t turn out the way you’d hoped.

The team reappeared, but following a protest over a newly installed mapping, no agreement could be reached between team owner Uwe Reinhardt and the technical commissioners, and Reinhardt decided on the spot to shut down his team completely. By then, however, Svendsen had already said his goodbyes. Since then, the Dane has been watching from the sidelines.

Now Oliver Svendsen is ready to give it another go: “I’m looking for a place on a team for Hockenheim. This season hasn’t quite gone to plan, and so far I’ve only had the chance to take part in one race. Sometimes you just have to accept that things don’t go as you’d hoped, take it on the chin and carry on. That’s why I’m giving it a go now: I’m looking for an opportunity to compete in the Euro Moto race at Hockenheim.
