Team Freudenberg is aiming for the Euro Moto Sportbike title with Stepan Zuda

Freudenberg Rora-Paligo Racing has had a very successful race weekend. At the Euro Moti at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the team put in a convincing performance in the Sportbike class in the Magdeburger Börde region. Stepan Zuda secured the maximum points haul with a one-two finish, impressively extending his lead in the championship.

The Czech rider had already demonstrated his class in qualifying. Under difficult conditions – with a wet track to start with and little track time in the first qualifying session – Zuda went on to secure pole position in the second qualifying session, thereby proving once again his tactical strength in collaboration with his crew when faced with such challenges.

50 new points in the Euro Moto title race

The Triumph rider left nothing to chance in the two races either. With controlled and flawless performances, he claimed two start-to-finish victories, impressively underlining his ambitions in the title race. “It’s brilliant to be able to celebrate my third consecutive victory following my home event at Most,” said a delighted Zuda. “Friends and family are here and were able to celebrate and enjoy this success with me. We now have a 47-point lead in the championship, which feels good. But we’ll be giving it our all again at Assen so that we can hopefully further strengthen our title chances. Many thanks to my team for a top job.”

But it wasn’t just Zuda who delivered strong results. Ruben Bijman was once again among the front-runners and battled for top positions in both races. With a 4th and a 5th place, he picked up vital points. Mika Siebdrath once again confirmed his steady progress with two sixth-place finishes and, as a strong rookie, picked up valuable championship points. Luis Rammerstorfer rounded off the team’s result with a 13th and a 14th place.

Teamwork and supporters

Team principal Carsten Freudenberg was very pleased after the race weekend: “A one-two for Stepan is, of course, the best possible result. He impressively demonstrated this weekend why he currently leads the championship. But I’m particularly pleased that we performed convincingly as a whole team. Ruben, Mika and Luis also put in strong performances under difficult conditions and never gave up. Our bike, the Triumph Daytona 660, is working well and is absolutely competitive. It’s weekends like this that ultimately decide a championship. The fact that we were able to further extend our lead is down to the outstanding work of our entire team. Without the hard work of all team members, this success would not have been possible. Our Smilla Göttlich also put up a strong fight at Oschersleben. With 12th place in the second race, she’s back on form, and we firmly believe she’ll succeed in the upcoming races.”

Team manager Carsten Freudenberg then turned his attention to those who make this success possible in the first place. “A huge thank you goes to our fans, who supported us throughout the weekend despite the changeable weather – we had everything from heat to rain,” he said. “This support at the track and via our team channels is a huge motivator for the whole team.
