Preview and schedule for AMA Pro Motocross at Unadilla, Round 9

The races in Uddevalla, Sweden, and Unadilla, USA, have been held on the same weekend for years. As well as the similar place names (Unadilla and Uddevalla), there is another distinctive feature shared by the two tracks: both are the oldest venues on the series calendar. The first World Championship round was held in Uddevalla in 1958. The first race at Unadilla in the state of New York took place 11 years later, in 1969. This makes Unadilla the oldest venue in American motocross.

Good conditions forecast

The forecast rain showers are not expected to reach New Berlin until Sunday. On Saturday, meteorologists are predicting sunshine with maximum daytime temperatures of 24 degrees.

Hunter or Jett?

The US riders are returning from a two-week summer break, the only one during the US season. In the 450 class, the battle between the two Lawrence brothers enters the next round. Hunter still holds a narrow 12-point lead over Jett, but Jett seems to be getting stronger with every race. Haiden Deegan is in third place, already well adrift by 69 points.

It’s also a close contest in the 250 class: Levi Kitchen (Kawasaki) holds a 7-point lead over New Zealander Cole Davies (Yamaha). Jo Shimoda (HRC), however, has been ruled out after, like Sacha Coenen, breaking his collarbone at the Southwick National.
