Oli Svendsen on his role at Most, his mum and 50 Danes in the pits

The Karlsruhe-based ERC team originally competes in the World Endurance Championship. Amongst others, it features former World Championship rider Marcel Schrötter, who will be racing the GERT56 BMW at the Euro Moto Superbike round in Most. Team ERC is already on its way to Suzuka in Japan, where the next EWC round is due to take place this coming weekend.

Shortly before the start of the Euro Moto Sportbike series, the team in Karlsruhe had put together a three-man sportbike squad, ordered three Kawasakis and signed up, amongst others, the 2025 IDM Supersport 300 champion and last year’s sportbike runner-up, Oliver Svendsen. The results at the season opener were modest. “But we’re putting our own house in order first,” said Reinhardt, explaining the last-minute withdrawal from the Czech Republic round. Back in the workshop, Lothar Kraus is working flat out. After the trip to Japan, work on the Euro Moto project will continue in Karlsruhe. Everything is due to be ready in four weeks’ time for the Euro Moto at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

“To be honest,” says Svendsen, “I think Uwe had more say than I did – I’ll be in Most this weekend, but only as a spectator and coach – I’m on holiday in the Czech Republic, having loads of fun and watching a few races. I’ve had lots of offers to get back on the bike this weekend, but I believe my team are doing what’s best for me, and we’ll be back at the very top of the podium very soon. Of course, it’s hard to watch my name slip down the standings, but fortunately lots of people know what I’m capable of and understand my situation.”

A mother’s need to explain

For the past year, Oliver Svendsen has been trying to sell his championship-winning KTM. But it seems he’ll be stuck on the bike for the time being, for lack of a suitable buyer. “It’s starting to look as though,” writes the Dane on social media, “the KTM will stay in the family. Many thanks to everyone who’s had a look without buying – now I have to explain to my mum why there’s a racing motorbike in the living room. Just buy it already!”

“I’m still selling my KTM RC390R, which has competed in both the World Championship and the IDM,” reads the listing. “It has been fully converted in accordance with the SSP300 World Championship regulations and is ready for another season. It’s also ideal for track days.” Anyone interested can get further information via Facebook or Instagram.

Support from home

To coincide with Oli Svendsen’s appearance at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, his fans are planning to organise a tour from Denmark to Saxony-Anhalt. Classic MC Djursland rides and maintains classic racing motorbikes from the years 1960–1975, with the aim of preserving and using the machines that have made history. In the 2026 season, they will be competing with a Suzuki TR500 and two Suzuki T20s.

“Here in the team, we’re not just interested in classic motorbikes,” the Danes assure us. “Of course, our focus is also on modern motorcycling. In fact, we believe that Danish talent deserves more support from their home country.” They are now looking for 50 travel-loving Danes who want to make the trip to Germany. You only have to pay the actual costs. Oli Svendsen would be delighted: “Do come along – the pit lane can easily accommodate 50 Danes.”
