Slump for Di Giannantonio: Aims to fight for podium places again

Fabio di Giannantonio didn’t have much of a say at Spielberg. It was others who were battling it out for wins and top results – in particular KTM ace Pedro Acosta and the Aprilia riders. “Diggia” was anything but satisfied with his 10th and 9th-place finishes. But the other Ducati riders also struggled this year at the Red Bull Ring, once the Reds’ favourite track.

Prior to that, things hadn’t gone to plan for Di Giannantonio at his home Grand Prix in Misano either – 4th place in the Sprint and 7th in the Grand Prix were the meagre haul. In the overall standings, the VR46 rider has lost ground. With seven races remaining in the season, he lies in 5th place – 76 points behind World Championship leader Jorge Martin (Aprilia).

Fabio Di Giannantonio: “I want to work even harder!”

This weekend, the action continues with the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi. “The last two races didn’t go as we’d hoped, so I want to get back on the bike and work even harder,” said the Italian ahead of the 16th round of the season. “I’m looking forward to being in Japan. I really like the track at Motegi, and our aim is to be competitive and fight for podium places again.”

October is set to be a gruelling month for the MotoGP stars – there are four Grands Prix in the space of five weeks. “We want to put in a great performance in this final part of the season, which will be a challenge. But we’ll be racing on tracks that I really like,” Di Giannantonio said, looking ahead. “We’ll stay focused and work together with the team. I’m really motivated!”

In 2025, Fabio Di Giannantonio had little success at Motegi. He finished 13th in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix.
