BMW M celebrates 100 years of the Nürburgring with exclusive anniversary editions

A consistent design concept runs through the entire anniversary range. The visual common thread linking all nine vehicles is the specially developed livery in historic Nürburgring Green, which can alternatively be replaced by Sapphire Black Metallic on the cars. The exterior is characterised by specific edition graphics on the front doors, the C-pillar and the rear side panels, complemented by the 100th-anniversary logo and the silhouette of the Nürburgring.

A particular visual highlight of the cars is the exclusive edition stripes on the roofs, which are finished in light grey tones, Nürburgring Green and black. On the coupés and saloons, these run across the lightweight M carbon roof, whilst on the Touring variants they are applied to the steel roof. Accents in Nürburgring Green on the wheels and the kidney grille frame round off the sporty look.

The interior is dominated by black trim with green and white contrast stitching. The front headrests feature embroidered Nordschleife silhouettes, whilst the M Alcantara steering wheel is marked with a 12 o’clock indicator.

On the technical front, the special edition models are designed for track-optimised performance. A significant innovation in the engine department concerns the straight-six variants of the BMW M2, M3 and M4: they are fitted with the BMW-patented pre-chamber ignition system, BMW M Ignite. This motorsport technology enhances efficiency under high-load conditions and significantly reduces fuel consumption under circuit conditions without any loss of power. At the same time, the technology helps the vehicles meet the stringent Euro 7 emissions standard.

The luxury-class variants, the BMW M5 Saloon and M5 Estate, rely on the high-performance M Hybrid drive, which combines high system output with long-distance capability. The vehicles also benefit from the insights BMW has gathered over decades of tuning drives on the 20.8 km-long Nordschleife in terms of chassis and aerodynamics.

The three motorcycle models – the BMW M1000RR, M1000R and M1000XR – also consistently embrace the Nordschleife theme. In addition to the special green paintwork, the appearance is characterised by carbon wheels with green accent stripes, exposed carbon elements, as well as a black rear swingarm and a black rear subframe. The Nordschleife design is featured on the painted fuel tank, whilst the airbox cover, in the anniversary design, bears a unique ‘one of 100’ marking. An Alcantara seat with the number 100 embroidered on it completes the visual overhaul of the motorbikes.

The three motorcycle models come as standard with the performance-oriented M Track Package. Production of the anniversary edition motorcycles is limited to 100 units each. The scope of delivery includes a paddock stand for the rear wheel, a special M motorcycle mat and a certificate of authenticity.

Order books for the cars are opening in stages: the BMW M3 Saloon, the M3 Touring, the M4 Coupé and the two M5 variants are now available to order, whilst the compact BMW M2 will follow in January 2027. The exact dates for the start of orders for the three limited-edition special-edition motorbikes are not yet known, nor are the prices.
