Jake Dixon (Honda) ahead of his second comeback: “This time, for good!”

Seven rounds of the 2026 Superbike World Championship have already been completed, but Jake Dixon has only competed in one race. This is because the Englishman injured his left hand in a crash during the final pre-season test at Phillip Island. The 30-year-old called off his first attempt at a comeback in Aragón after Sunday’s warm-up – and the Honda works rider also sat out the Misano round.

“The races were so close together and the timing of my recovery wasn’t ideal,” explained Dixon. “Now I feel ready to tackle the race weekend at Donington. I feel that my wrist has taken another step forward, and hopefully it will improve even further over the next few days.”

Together with his team-mate Somkiat Chantra, Dixon completed a day of testing at Donington Park on 23 June, where the eighth round of the season will take place from 10 to 12 July. The local hero has promised his compatriots that this time he’ll see the whole race weekend through.

“I’m just so happy to be back with the team. I’ve missed that, and the crew, and Chantra a bit too, I think,” joked the former Moto2 rider. “Races at Donington Park are always brilliant and I’ll be there – for the full weekend and for good. There’ll be no more coming, watching and then pulling out again. I feel back in top form.”
