Until 2031: The Superbike World Championship and the Misano World Circuit stay together

Following the removal of Monza (last held in 2013) and Imola (last held in 2023) from the calendar, Misano is the home of the production-based World Championship in Italy. The Superbike World Championship has been coming to the Adriatic since 1991, with the exception of 1992 and 2020, and the race track continues to be in good condition. As the MotoGP also makes guest appearances at the 'Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli' on the Adriatic, renovations and maintenance work are regularly carried out.

Important for the Superbike World Championship: The fan base in Italy is large, numerous teams and sponsors are based in Emilia-Romagna and Misano is one of the best-attended events every year. It is no surprise that the expiring contract has now been extended until 2031.

"The Misano World Circuit has played an important role in the history and growth of the Superbike World Championship," explained Superbike Director Gregorio Lavilla. "We are very pleased to confirm that it will remain part of the championship until 2031. The Emilia-Romagna round is one of the most important events of the season and brings together a passionate fan base, a strong motorsport culture and a circuit that is constantly adapting to the needs of the championship. This long-term agreement reflects the strength of our relationship with the Misano World Circuit, the Emilia-Romagna region and the local institutions and provides us with a solid base to further develop the event for fans, teams and partners."

It is worth mentioning that the Superbike event also has an economic component, which is why the local government is not putting any obstacles in the way. "The event brings considerable benefits to the entire region and an economic impact of almost 30 million euros as well as more than 154,000 overnight stays by tourists," said Andrea Albani, Managing Director of the race track. "The Superbike World Championship is an outstanding event that has anticipated the latest trends in motorsport entertainment and is increasingly focussing on fan involvement. This format fits perfectly with the multifunctionality of the Misano World Circuit."
