TT 2027: Superstock race cancelled and tribute to the 100th Senior TT

A number of changes have been made to the schedule for next year’s Tourist Trophy. The qualifying week, which will run from 31 May to 4 June, remains unchanged. The revised schedule begins on Saturday 5 June. The six-lap Superbike race returns to its traditional slot and will open the race week.

On Sunday, only the first Supersport race, over four laps, is scheduled. This is because, should the weather on Saturday prevent a race from taking place, there would be sufficient time to allow the Superbikes to race on the Snaefell Mountain Course.

Following a race-free Monday, the programme for Tuesday 8 June features the Superstock race (4 laps) and the first sidecar race, which, following the revision of the technical regulations, will consist of two laps.

“Reducing the number of Superstock races from two to one allows us to give the remaining race and both sportbike races more substance, create more recovery time within the programme, and better safeguard the Superbike race and the Senior TT,” explains Paul Phillips, Head of Motorsport at the Isle of Man TT Races, regarding the cancellation.

On Wednesday, the Supersport class riders will take to the track for the second time. This will be accompanied by the first race in the Sportbike class. With these two races, each consisting of four laps on the circuit stretching over 60 kilometres, entertainment is guaranteed.

After another rest day, the highlight of the event will take centre stage. The Senior TT, which will be held for the hundredth time next year, will not, as usual, bring the racing week to a close on Friday 11 June, as the second races for sidecars and sportbikes are scheduled for the following day.

The schedule includes a special tribute throughout the race week to the motorbikes that have shaped the 100-year history of the legendary Senior TT race. Phillips: “We want the 100th Senior TT to be about much more than just the race itself. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate the riders, motorbikes and extraordinary achievements that have made this race the most important of the TT.”
